
On August 2, 2023, Lemmy Killmister’s ashes are enshrined at Lemmy’s bar in the Village of Wacken, where many fans took a part in a special parade and a ceremony with communal toasts. The longtime Motörhead members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee participated in the ceremony, and they placed the Lemmy’s ashes in a small version of his urn inside a special glass display with his hat, his boots and his favourite things as books, whiskey, newspapers and even Kinder Eggs, and the entire building was decorated with Motörhead-themed wall paintings.
Later at night Doro /Lemmy’s long time friend/ with Phil and Mickey sang from the stage “Ace of Spades”and “Love me Forever”. Drones did a light show with the logos of Motörhead, Doro, the face of Lemmy.
The frontman of Motörhead died at the age of 70 on December 28, 2015, shortly after he knew he was diagnosed with cancer.
His friends say that he loved to play in Wacken and on Hellfest and the organizers of the festivals have held ceremonies to remember him since the pre-previous year’s Hellfest.
In 2020 was announced that there will be a new “Lemmy” movie, directed by Greg Olliver, who made the previous “Lemmy” movie in 2010.
