The largest heavy metal festival in Europe, in Wacken Village, Germany, Wacken Open Air has extreme weather conditions this year. The terrible rain made the visitors get stuck in the mud and the organizers decided to restrict the cars access to the area. They said that they will refund the money for the tickets to all the visitors with cars that couldn’t get to the festival area.

Thomas Jensen, one of the two co-owners of the festival, made a public statement regarding this unprecedented situation in the history of the festival:

Thomas Jensen said that he regrets that the festival organizers have to reduce the amount of the visitors because of the weather conditions, especially after two years of Covid-19 pandemic.

He said a big “Thanks” to all the “Mudfighters”, and the festival shop produced a t-shirt for them.

Capacity limit for W:O:A reached

Considering the weather conditions, the reasonable visitor capacity for Wacken Open Air 2023 has now been reached.

Any further travel must be stopped and canceled with immediate effect. For the first time in the history of the W:O:A this decision has been made.

We are very sad, but the continuing difficult weather situation unfortunately leaves us no other choice.”

Magenta Music and Magenta TV are showing many things from the four days of the festival as a compensation to all the visitors that couldn’t go in the Holy Ground. The TV streams from the Harder – Faster Stage and Louder Stage. Many of the concerts have live streaming and records on Magenta TV – Biohazard, Amaranthe, Skyline, Dog Eat Dog, Masterplan, Vixen, Megadeth, Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity, Battle Beast, Cemican, Beyond the Black and many more.
