On Friday 4; 2023 Marty Friedman performed with Megadeth on the stage of Wacken Open Air festival 2023.

The frontman of the band Dave Mustaine said on the social media:  “Wacken! Make sure to head over to the faster stage. We have a special surprise for you. You’re not going to want to miss it.”

Marty Friedman rejoined Megadeth for a second time in the last six months and played four songs with them – “Trust”, “Tornado Of Souls”, “Symphony Of Destruction” and “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due”.

The first time he played with them was on the first band’s gig ever in Tokyo, Japan’s famed Budokan. Then he played three songs with Megadeth: Countdown To Extinction”, “Tornado Of Souls” and “Symphony Of Destruction”.

Marty said in an interview for “Guitar World” that the door to Megadeth is open and his relationships with the people in the band are terrific.
