Joe Lynn Turner in Bulgaria

Joe Lynn Turner made a tour in Bulgaria with the famous Bulgarian band Ahat, which song “The Black Sheep” is emblematic for the Bulgarian rock and heavy metal music. This is not the first their collaboration. In 2001 Joe Lynn Turner appears in the rock-opera “Nostradamus” of the Bulgarian composer Nikolo Kotzev. The September tour was named “Rock&Roll Forever”, and it included six cities in Bulgaria.

Joe Lynn Turner has many collaborations with famous musicians. His 50-years long career includes three albums with Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, album with Yingwie Malmsteen, album with Ritchie Blackmore when he was in Deep Purple. Joe sang back vocals for other famous musicians like Cher and Billy Idol, and he released in 2022 a new album with Peter Tägtgren.

The Bulgarian band Ahat was formed in 1986 in Sofia city. They recorded their iconic for the Bulgarian rock music song “The Black Sheep in 1988. They released their first album “The Quest” in the next year. It is followed by “From Under the Ruins” (1994), “7 (Seven) Years After…” LIVE (1999), “The Quest”- re-release (2003) „Golden Rock Tour 2004” , the movies “Made in USA” (2004) and “The Quest” 2003 (2006), the concert “20 years later”2007, performed by Bulgarian bands and with the participation of Ahat.

The tour in Bulgaria included six cities, and it was organised by Sofia Music Enterprises, a Bulgarian agency, founded by Dimitar Kovachev – Funky and Ivan Nestorov – Amebata in 1991. SME invites many world famous musicians to perform in Bulgaria.

Joe Lynn Turner sang songs from his albums with Rainbow and Deep Purple. Although Zvezdi from Ahat had a voice problem for the concert in Varna, he sang several songs.
