Jon Olive fractured his spine as he slipped on the wet floor. He said in an interview with Monsters, Madness and Magic that the incident happened when he recorded the new album with the band. The records will stop for the first half of the year because Jon must wear a kind of harness vest support for four months. He said in another interview that he has material for three albums, and he will shorten it for one album with three bonus tracks. He explained that this will be the best Savatage album ever, and the fans will all be blown away.
In the album will take part Zachary Stevens [vocals], Steve Wacholz on the drums on several songs, Jeff Plate [drums], Johnny Lee Middleton [bass], Al Pitrelli [guitar], Chris Caffery [guitar], the Trans Siberian Orchestra, and their keyboardist Jane Mangini.
The last piece of the album will be “The Curtain Call” – a ballad with piano only, and it will be a big farewell to the fans.
