After the release of their album “Leviathan III” at the end of 2023, the Swedish symphonic metal band Therion started their world tour with a spectacular concert with an orchestra in Mexico city. The guitarist, composer, and producer of the band, Christofer Johnsson, said that with “Leviathan III”, the trilogy mission is complete. He has explained that many rehearsals are required to make the orchestra play as one and to stick with the band’s musicians, that he feels exhausted like it can make his life shorter. The band made their show with orchestra and chorus in an arena with over 11 000 tickets sold out, and it will be followed with and European / Chinese tour in 2024.

Christofer Johnsson said that he is working on a new project with his “Luciferian Light Orchestra” with a 70s-like sound. It is performed by Therion’s members; Thomas is involved in the composing, and it is partly recorded. It left only the keyboards and the vocals to be recorded and to be mixed before the release.

Christofer Johnsson also will record one heavy metal album in the heavy metal style of 80s. He once made heavy metal album with Thomas. Now he wants to release second one, because he thinks that he owes this to his 11-year-old self.

He spoke about the tours, and he said that in the future Therion will not play in the USA, and they will not play in some of the places in Europe where the public is not enough or the payment is not so good. He said that he will not fully cancel the concert shows but he is tired of the waiting, traveling issues, organization’s problems, and other not-so-good things.

He said that the band will make more concerts in Mexico, Chile and Colombia in the future.

LLO and the heavy metal project will not be performed on stage at all.
