The new German symphonic metal band Powerwolf has released the long-awaited track “1589”. The song tells the story of the torture of Peter Stumpp (c. 1535 – 1589). Peter Stumpp was a farmer from Germany who was accused of serial murders, witchcraft, werewolfism. He was called “The Werewolf of Bedburg”. There was a trial against him, he was tortured and executed after his confessions that he had committed crimes and had a relationship with the Devil.

The song is from the new album “Wake Up The Wicked”, which will be released on July 26, 2024.
