The vocalist of the Portuguese metal band Moonspell, Fernando Ribeiro, gave an interview to his fans on the Moonspell YouTube channel. He said that there will not be a new album until 2026 because of the slow process of working on it.
The singer shared his opinion about other bands that decided to end their careers. He said that in metal music. the end is never the end. For example. many bands that decide to end their careers, start later to write new albums or perform on stage together. This is because of many reasons, and mainly because of marketing. He explained that if Moonspell decide to stop their career, the end will be really the end. No more shows, no more records.
Fernando Ribeiro has shared that now he is working on two books – poetical one and philosophical one.
The musician explained his opinion on Artificial Intelligence. He said that he has no fear about the AI’s impact on the future. The main thing that is important is who puts the data. For him, such things as Google, YouTube and AI are just instruments that can be used to help the artists in the process of their work.
Fernando Ribeiro said that everybody is working hard on the forthcoming show, which will be live-streamed on October 26. The show, named “Opus Diabolicum”, will be performed on stage at the MEO Arena, Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city. It is the first show ever with orchestra in Moonspell’s career. This symphonic metal night will be performed together with the fantastic Lisbon Sinfonietta Orchestra, one of the finest Portuguese orchestras, with 45 musicians on stage, conducted by maestro Vasco Pearce de Azevedo. It will be streamed world-wide. Later, it will be released on DVD/Blu-ray and live album via Napalm Records.
