Testament is recording a new studio album. They prepared the main part of the material before this summer. They are working with the Swedish producer Jens Bogren, who will mix the album. He has previously worked with Opeth, Kreator, Paradise Lost, Soilwork, Amon Amarth, and many others. The new album will have socially oriented lyrics. This past June, Chuck revealed to the San Francisco, California, radio station 107.7 that the new album will have songs like “Havana Syndrome,” which is about the Havana Syndrome. There’s the song “Infanticide A.I.,” which is about A.I. The song “Meant To Be” sounds like a classic Testament ballad. There will be an epic song with an acoustic guitar section that will be a duet between Chuck Billy and Floor Jansen. Chuck told Canada’s The Metal Voice that he writes the most of the Testament lyrics with Del James, who works with Guns N’ Roses. The rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson is one of the main composers of the band. The new drummer, the 26-year-old Chris Dovas, graduated from Berklee College and works with Pro Tools. He is also involved in the composing of the album. He listens to modern and old music, and his musical taste has an influence on the new songs.
The new album will be out at the beginning of 2025.
