The Finnish musicians from the famous band Amorphis are in a studio. They will work with the Grammy Award-nominated producer and mixing engineer Jacob Hansen in his Hansen Studios in Denmark. Hansen is working with bands such as Volbeat, Arch Enemy, Amaranthe, U.D.O., Primal Fear, Pretty Maids, Flotsam & Jetsam, Epica, Evergrey, Heaven Shall Burn and other stars.

Amorphis wrote on the social media: “Greetings from windy Denmark! Here we are, recording Amorphis’ 15th studio album with Jacob Hansen of Hansen Studios as a producer. This time, we wanted to break our usual formula a bit and explore new productive nuances. It’s inspiring to be here, and the next couple of months will reveal how Amorphis will sound in 2025.”

Since the summer of 2024, there has been news that the band started writing the songs for its 15th LP album. The previous three albums were produced by Jens Bogren, and now the musicians want to change the sound style. The previous album, “Halo”, was released in 2022 via Atomic Fire Records, and it was described in a press release as “progressive, melodic, and quintessentially melancholic heavy masterwork.” It was, as many other past Amorphis albums, a poetic storytelling by the long-term Amorphis lyricist and “Kalevala” expert Pekka Kainulainen.

In a July 2024 interview with Loud TV, Amorphis’ keyboardist Santeri Kallio said that the album will probably be out in February or March 2025. Now the band that placed in its music different elements from different genres, wants to experiment and come up with a new sound in 2025.
