Christofer Johnsson, the composer of the Swedish symphonic metal band Therion, announced his solo project, Defenders of the Faith band. The name of the album is “Odes To The Gods”. It will be released via the own label of Christofer Johnsson. He wrote this heavy metal album as a present to his 11-year-old self that was inspired by bands such as Accept, Judas Priest, Saxon, Iron Maiden, WASP, Motörhead, Motley Crue, Manowar, and others. They were the reason he started to play the guitar and to create Therion band and songs as ”Secrets of the Sphinx”, “To Mega Therion”, ”Birth of Venus Illegitima”, “In The Desert Of Seth” and many more.

The release date of “Odes To The Gods” will be June 27, 2025. The first single will be released in a few days.
