Johan Längqvist, the vocalist of Candlemass, will release his solo project “Johan Langquist The Castle” on June 27 via the label I Hate Records. The album was released without a label in 2024. It is written in the style of Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Savatage and Ronnie James Dio with a doom sound.

Candlemass are pioneers in the epic doom metal style since their first album, “Epicus Doomicus Metallicus”(1986). Johan Längqvist left the band after it and reunited with them in 2018. Meanwhile, the band collaborated with Messiah Marcolin (who left in 2006), Robert Lowe and Mats Levén.
