The Swedish rock band Ghost releases their new album Skeletá on April 25. It is the first heavy metal album in first place in the Billboard Top 200 for four years since AC/DC’s “Power Up”. For one week, 86, 000 vinyl copies from Skeletá are sold out.
The band presents the new Papa V Perpetua in this album. The opening with the child’s chorus in “Peacefield” and next the strong vocals throws us into a rock atmosphere, full of life, with sensitive changes of happy and melancholic nuances. It is followed by the theatrical crying “Lachryma” and the playful song, “Satanized”, which were released as video singles. The sad ballad “Guiding Lights” can thrill the feelings with the almost operatic voice of Tobias Forge and the sad lyrics. “De Profundis Borealis” is a heavier and more aggressive song. “Cenotaph” is a happy rock hit. “Missilia Amori” is a heavy love song with a little sad feeling and epic dark solo guitars. “Marks Of The Evil One” is one journey of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, definitely one of the best hits in the album. “Umbra” is an epic song with wild keyboard instrumentals. The album ends with the fantastic second ballad, “Excelsis”. The lyrics are thoughts about eternity and invite us to it.
