
The Los Angeles-based studio for animation movies and book publisher, Fantoons Studio, that published “Motörhead: Where Is Lemmy?” and “Rush: Where Is Geddy, Alex And Neil?”, has announced the new book “Where Is Ozzy?”. It will be released worldwide on July 29th. Each page is full of illustrations that celebrate one of the most glorious singers of rock. Who are the artists in Fantoons? The author David Calcano wrote for page and screen and directed animations for Disney, Universal, Warner, Westbrook, and also for many performers – Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa, and others. Alberto Belandria colored the book. He is Barcelona located visual artist, specializing in inking, coloring and concept art. Juan J. Riera T is an illustrator artist based in Madrid, Spain. He was involved in projects such as colorizing of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”. In Fantoons studio he is an animator and illustrator and has worked on many musical projects, including Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne. Larissa Rivero works for Fantoons as a 2D artist of comics, animations and books. Jorge Mansilla is an illustrator with over 20 years of experience, a professor at the Instituto de Diseño de Caracas, and currently working for Fantoons as illustrator.
Meanwhile, this month will be the opening of two exhibitions in the born city of Ozzy Osbourne, Birmingham. The free-to-enter exhibition at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, called “Working Class Hero” will be open from June 25th to September 28th. It will showcase the world’s most prestigious awards of Ozzy Osbourne: MTV Awards, Grammy Awards, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accolades, Birmingham Walk of Stars honors, and many others. There will be presented a selection of gold and platinum records of Ozzy, that assume him as one of the most iconic rock stars in the world.
There will be a free outdoor exhibition of Black Sabbath’s photography in Victoria Square. It will start from June 25 to the autumn. It showcases archive photos of Ozzy, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward, and the artwork of the Black Sabbath albums.
On Navigation Street, the world-famous spray artist Mr. Murals has created a grandiose 40-meter-long street tribute to Black Sabbath, including their iconic logo and art portraits of the band’s members.
Ozzy’s farewell concert, “Back to the Beginning”, will be on July 5th. Because it was sold out only for 16 minutes, it will be streamed online worldwide for all the fans that want to see their idols. For the concert Black Sabbath’s original lineup — Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward — will reunite for the first time in 20 years and will perform on stage with other iconic performers and bands — Metallica, Guns n’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and others. The show will be hosted by the American actor Jason Momoa.
