Death Row, Backbone, and Phantom are the best Bulgarian bands on WOLF HUNT Festival. This was the audience vote’s decision at the Chelopech festival.

The first WOLF HUNT edition – a competition for new Bulgarian rock and metal bands – has turned Chelopech into an epicenter of the new wave of Bulgarian rock music. The festival attracted hundreds of fans from all over the country, who became part of a real musical adventure over the past weekend.

After an exciting competition program, а charging energy, and a contested vote from the audience, the first place and the grand prize – a professional sound recording and video of an original song – were won by the band Death Row from Yambol. The second place, accompanied by a cash prize of 1000 leva, went to the Sofia band Backbone, and the third place and 500 leva was awarded to the band from Pernik – Phantom.

A total of 10 bands from over 60 applicants performed on the stage of WOLF HUNT this year: Dust, Overhook, Mr. Dazzleton, Angel Ashes, Mud Ocean, Whatever Men, and KYNETIC, as well as the winners Death Row, Backbone, and Phantom. They all presented their original music to the enthusiastic audience, which had the honor and responsibility of choosing the winners in real time.

“All 10 bands performed great! There was such a rock charge that showed us that music in Bulgaria has a great future! All of them deserved to be winners, but the audience chose their 3 favorites” – shared Emil Anchev, vocalist of the band Konkurent and one of the event organizers. He went up to the WOLF HUNT stage to wish success and creative inspiration to the new bands, then brought the audience to its feet with a special performance by the band Konkurent.

The Mayor of Chelopech Municipality – Eng. Alexi Kesyakov also greeted the participants and the audience:

“Congratulations to everyone for being here! Chelopech is a rock city and will continue to be so! WOLF HUNT will become a great tradition that will give a stage to young bands who deserve it every year” – he was categorical.

WOLF HUNT offered fans not only a strong musical charge, but also a real festival experience. With its first edition, WOLF HUNT has started a new tradition – an annual celebration of young rock and metal bands, free spirit and live Bulgarian music.
