Michael Monroe Prepares A New Album, “Outerstellar”

The Finnish star Michael Monroe prepares a new album, “Outerstellar”. It will be out on February 20th, 2026, via Silver Lining Music. The musicians playing with him are the bass player Sami Yaffa, guitarists Rich Jones and Steve Conte, and the drummer Karl Rockfist.

Michael Monroe, together with Andy McCoy, created the band Hanoi Rocks in the late 70s. Hanoi Rocks is the first Finnish band to make an international breakthrough. They recorded the first three albums with their original lineup. The albums “Bangkok Shocks, Saigon Shakes, Hanoi Rocks” (1981), “Oriental Beat” (1982), and “Self Destruction Blues” (1982) are with Michael Monroe on the vocals, Andy McCoy, Sami Yaffa, Nasty Suicide, and Gyp Casino. In 1982 Casino was replaced by Nicholas “Razzle” Dingley. Razzle died in a tragic car accident in 1984, which led to the end of Hanoi Rocks. They did reform once more in 2002 with only Monroe and McCoy from the original lineup, and they recorded the album “Twelve Shots On The Rocks”.

Michael Monroe has released the first single from the upcoming album, “Rockin’ Horse”. It is a rock ‘n’ roll song, and its video is directed by Leigh Brooks. It shows the funny characters that are involved in the so-called morning TV podcast “Waking Up With Michael Monroe”.
