The Swedish gothic metal band Tiamat will have a concert in Sofia, Bulgaria. The band was founded in 1987 as Treblinka, and after the first album, was renamed to Tiamat. It is a favorite band of the Bulgarian fans that played on Kavarna Rock Fest in 2011. Their concrt in 2022 was totally sold out. Tiamat have ten studio albums. In their early music there is impact from Mercyful Fate, Candlemass, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and thrash and death metal. After 1997 their vocalist Johan Edlund decided to move to Germany and announced that he is the only permanent member of the band. The new albums of the band are darker and gothic. Johan Edlund and his bandmates shared that they are in a studio and working on new material.

The Bulgarian dark/doom band Velian will open the concert. Velian has two albums and one EP. They have professional videoclips and high-quality multimedia performances. Formed in 2015, it is a supergroup with musicians from Wartime, Progression, and Fanagoria. Their style is a strong combination of power metal, melodic death, and gothic metal. Their debut album, “Godless” was released in 2019, and the second one, “Spectacle of Tragedy”, was released in 2023. The band has many appearances in local and foreign festivals.

Tiamat and Velian concert will be on November 15 in Joy Station Club, Sofia. The organizer is the well-known agency Sofia Music Enterprises.
