Alter Bridge Releases Self-Titled Album

The American glam rock band Alter Bridge released their eighth album today, on January 9, 2026. The new work is named “Alter Bridge” and it is out via Nuclear Blast Records. It consists of 12 new tracks, produced by the band’s long-term friend and producer, Michael “Elvis” Baskette.

Earlier this month in an interview on The Cody Tucker Show, Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy expressed his opinion of the A.I. (artificial intelligence) music generators that write songs instead of humans. “It’s a bummer. I don’t like it. The fact that we just had a number one country song that was all A.I. generated, that’s a head scratcher for me. And I’m not sure where it goes.

“Really, it’s just a matter, I think, of how we’re all gonna use it. The question for us as humans is, like, okay, are you going to utilize A.I. to… Like, say you’re a student. I’m just gonna use A.I. to write my term paper. And you’re not doing yourself any good, because what’s gonna happen is that… The human brain, it’s like a muscle, and if you don’t use it, it will atrophy, it’ll turn to mush. So the idea of engaging and working on something, and also just the feeling of accomplishment. I love that. I love doing something and then just that feeling you get when you’re done. If we wanna shortchange ourselves, then, I guess, have at it. But I don’t wanna shortchange myself.”

Alter Bridge co-founder and guitarist Mark Tremonti also shared his opinion on A.I. generators’ future. He exposed his worries in an interview with Metal Covenant. “Well, going forward, it’s gonna be this A.I. (artificial intelligence) thing. I think everybody needs to enjoy it as much as they can because in the history of the human race, this will be the last time you’ll know art is real. It’s anything from music to literature to movie scripts to paintings to visual art, A.I. is gonna come on in. There’s gonna be a lot of true artists that keep doing it true, but they’re gonna be overwhelmed by the just overwhelming amount of fake art that’s gonna come out.”

Alter Bridge will headline the “What Lies Within” tour with the support of Daughtry and Sevendust. It will start on January 15th in Germany and will end on March 5th in Great Britain. After 31 concerts in Europe, on April 25th, the band will start the American part of the tour with the support of Filter or Sevendust and Tim Montana.
