Dietmar “Diedel” Wulfgramm From Skyline Passed Away

Dietmar “Diedel” Wulfgramm, the keyboardist of Skyline band, passed away. His friends and colleagues from Wacken Open Air published the following statement:

Obituary for Dietmar “Diedel” Wulfgramm

There are people who stay with you not only for a few years, but a whole part of your life journey. Diedel was one of those.
For us Dietmar “Diedel” Wulfgramm was never just the keyboardist of Skyline. He was traveler, doer, mate. One who didn’t do much lifting, but without him a lot would never have happened.
Together we felt this very special energy that only arises when people share the same passion for metal. Diedel was never the loudest in the room – but his presence was always there.
With Skyline and everything that grew around it, he was part of a time when it wasn’t about size, it was about heart blood.
For friends that stick together. That’s exactly what Diedel embodied.
We don’t just lose a musician.
We lose a companion.
One who accompanied the history of the event.
Diedel, thank you for the years. For the sake of friendship
See you again – somewhere between feedback, beer and a damn good chord.

Skyline was the first band that played at Wacken Open Air. Dietmar “Didel” Wolfgram, now considered the “driving force” and long-time pillar of the band after its relaunch in 2009, joined the lineup at a later stage. He helped Skyline establish itself as the official “host” band of Wacken. At the beginning the band included Thomas Jensen (a co-founder of Wacken Open Air) on the bass guitar, Andreas „Gösy“ Schlüter on the drums, Peter Huhn on the guitar, Ines Jeske on the vocals and Dennis Harman on keyboards. They performed in 1990 at the first festival edition. Many guest musicians played with them through the years – Doro Pesch, Udo Dirkschneider, Gus G. and others. Nowadays Thomas Jensen rarely play with the band on stage because of his engagements.

Skyline started to compose their own music and in 2019 they released their first album, “Uncovered”. In 2024 they recorded “Human Monster”, that follows the line of heavy rock and metal.
