Alice Cooper Announces Definitive Memoir “Devil On My Shoulder”

Alice Cooper, Midalidare Rock 2025

The great shock rock star Alice Cooper has announced the release of his definitive memoir, “Devil On My Shoulder”. It will be published on October 8th, 2026, by Ebury Spotlight. Alice Cooper will go on an eight-day tour in the U.K. to support the book. He will have a conversation with a special guest moderator, and he will answer the audience’s questions. After 30 recorded albums and touring the world, the legendary artist will reveal the connection between the religious, sober family man and his strange character, the Godfather of Shock Rock Alice Cooper, who wears a snake around his neck, who cuts off his head on the stage with a guillotine, dances with monsters, dead babies, throwing dollars with his photo, and headless chickens in the crowd. His real name is Vincent Damon Furnier, but he changed it legally to Alice Cooper. His band’s name in the sixties was Alice Cooper, and after they separated, only he continued his musical career so successfully. Alice recruited the band the previous year to record and publish the album “The Revenge Of Alice Cooper”. The career of the rock star spanned six decades. He had many collaborations with other artists. In 1973 he was invited for the famous project of Salvador Dali, “First Cylindric Chromo-Hologram Portrait of Alice Cooper”. He was the only rock ‘n’ roller in the prestigious Friars Club with artists such as Groucho Marx, Errol Flynn, Jerry Lewis, Jack Benny, George Burns, Fred Astaire, and others. He was accepted by them because they admired his theatrical stage show. Alice collaborated with the great vampire performer, the actor Vincent Price, in the special TV show “The Nightmare” (1975). In the seventies he became a founder and a member of the “Hollywood Vampires” club with John Lennon, Kate Moon, Ringo Starr, Micky Dolenz, and Harry Nilsson. In 2012 Alice formed a band with the same name with the actor Johnny Depp and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. The singer was friends with Andy Warhol, who created, in 1973, a holographic portrait of Cooper. Frank Sinatra covered the Cooper ballad “You and Me” in the late seventies. He launches the campaign Alice Cooper for President in 2016 and 2024. He earned a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2003, and in 2011 he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Such stories and anecdotes will be published on the pages of the “Devil On My Shoulder” memoir book.

Alice Cooper has appeared in many TV shows and movies. He appeared in the TV podcast “Muppet Show”, in the horror movies “Prince of Darkness” (1987), “Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare”(1991), “Suck” (2009), in other movies – “Wayne’s World” (1992), Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” (2012), in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert” in 2018, and many others.
