The Swiss extreme metal legends Samael released a new song, “Hidden Empire”. After “Black Matter Manifesto”, which was the first song released after an eight-year pause in October the previous year, “Hidden Empire” is the second song from the upcoming vinyl with the two songs that can be preordered at Samael’s shop. The new song is brutal industrial metal with the Typical Samael’s symphonic sound and raw rythm. The lyrics and video of the song depict the current reality, filled with violence, wars and chaos, and the constant surveillance through cameras and artificial intelligence. This is the hidden empire that watches and records everything, but does nothing to stop the wars and violence. Humanity and normality give way to chaos and technology.

Samael said on the new song:
“Hidden in plain sight, right in front of us, everywhere and at all times. We no longer see what we are used to seeing, it is our reality, a reality to which we willingly submit in order to lead a painless but meaningless existence.

“Musically, the beginning of the song is somewhat reminiscent of SAMAEL’s classic track ‘My Saviour’, but it quickly evolves into something more unusual for the band. It is a heavy song with an industrial touch that maintains high tension from start to finish.”
