The Canadian singer Alissa White-Gluz announced her new band Blue Medusa about two week ago. Now she has published a video for the new song “Checkmate”. The vocalist combines death metal roaring, melodic singing, and operatic vocals. Earlier this year Alissa left Arch Enemy to dedicate herself to her solo career. Blue Medusa is a ladies band with Alicia Vigil (Dragonforce, Vigil Of War) and the drummer is Delaney Jaster (Stitched Up Heart). Alissa White-Gluz presented the new band on March 8, International Women’s Day. The video of “Checkmate” is directed by Vicente Cordero and Alissa White-Gluz.
