The Danish band Seven Thorns performed a fantastic concert in Varna, Bulgaria on April 7. The concert was held in Varna Live Club and was absolutely incredible. It was from the band’s tour “The Road Of Power”. The musicians made a show that will be remembered for a long time.

Lars Borup created Seven Thorns in 1998 and has started to search for other members. In 2004 the band had reached its full lineup for the first time. The first single, “Artificial Nights”, was recorded in the beginning of 2005 and is nominated for a Danish Metal Award. From 2005 to 2007, the band was on a pause, and its name was changed to 7thorns. They recorded one album, “Glow Of Down”, but it was never officially released. In 2007 the original Seven Thorns was revived, and in 2008 the single “Forest Majesty” was recorded over New Year by Airborne Records, a small Danish label. The debut album “Return To the Past” was out in 2010 via Nightmare Records. Seven Thorns signed a promotion contract with the German agency Rock N Growl. The promotion deal resulted in many class reviews and e-zines all over the world and many radio airplays in Europe, the U.S.A., and Japan. Seven Thorns releases their second album “II” in 2014. In 2018 the band released their album “Symphony of Shadows”, which is an important chapter from their career. In the next years, the long-time members Asger W. Nielsen (keyboards) and Gabriel Tuxen (guitar), followed by the vocalist Björn Asking, left the band. Magnus Kouldahl (guitar) has joined the Seven Thorns in 2023. In 2025, Alicke Kostopoulou (vocals) joined the band. She is from Greece, and she has a classical music education. She is involved in two other projects – the bands Scarblade and Shatterheart. She was the vocalist of Ruthless Steel in 2013. The other vocalist Marco Biagioli also joined in 2025. He formed the hard rock band “Radio Hell” at school. His love of music inspires him all his life. He is a member of the bands Runover, Pirate Bay Band, Back To the 90’s Boys, A Caustic Trio, and Vocal Blue Trains as a tenor. He has sung in Seven Thorns since 2025.

The music of Seven Thorns is power metal with virtuoso guitars, complex melodic lines, and roaring and clean vocals. Some of the compositions have influence from oriental music, and others are inspiring metal hymns. Now the band is preparing a new album.
