Iron Maiden Documentary “Burning Ambition” Will Be Out In May 2026

From May 7th on, the documentary “Burning Ambiton” for one of the most iconic heavy metal bands in the world, Iron Maiden, will be in cinemas worldwide. The documentary follows the path of Iron Maiden from the beginning in 1975 to the present day. It is directed by Malcolm Venville (“Churchill At War”) and produced by Dominic Freeman (“Spirits In The Forest – A Depeche Mode Film”).

Iron Maiden’s career is one of the most influential and enduring band stories. For 50 years the musicians released 17 studio albums, sold more than 100 million records, and had more than 2500 concerts in 64 countries. The previous year, they started the “Run For Your Lives” world tour to celebrate their 50-year anniversary. On July 11th, 2026, they will perform in historic Knebworth Park, London, at the one-of-a-kind celebration named EddFest. Along with the millions of sold albums, the band has been the recipient of a Grammy Award, a Brit Award, and many other awards. They published their first-ever official hardcover visual history book, “Infinite Dreams”. The book includes unseen photos from the Iron Maiden archive, stories from the band’s members, landmark photographs by Ross Halfin and John McMurtrie, the albums’ covers, photos of the band’s instruments, handwritten lyrics, and other stuff. The book includes a foreword by the band founder Steve Harris and an afterword by the vocalist Bruce Dickinson.

Iron Maiden have been nominated for the Hall of Fame this year. It is the band’s third nomination after the previous in 2021 and 2023. Steve Harris and Bruce Dickinson stated that being inducted into the Hall of Fame was not so important to them.

Iron Maiden will play in Bulgaria on May 26th, 2026, at National Stadium “Vasil Levski” by invitation of Live Nation and Fest Team. Special guests will be Anthrax. Tickets can be found here.
