The cult new wave Bulgarian band Nova Generacia (New Generation) will perform on the small stage at Vidas Art Arena in Sofia on September 15th. The band is one of the most emblematic and significant for Bulgarian music. With its characteristic new wave and post-punk sound, the band gathers fans from several generations this fall, united by the spirit of alternative culture. A special guest at the concert will be the indie post-punk band Tlen.
Founded in the late 1980s, Nova Generatsia has released four albums and paved the way for many post-punk and dark wave bands in Bulgaria, inspiring them with lyrics and melodies. Over the years, the lineup has changed, but the figure of the vocalist and bassist Dimitar Voev remains central to the band’s identity. His dark poetry and raw emotion have marked generations of musicians and fans, and his work continues to live in the performances of Nova Generatsia to this day.
On September 15, the audience will hear “Samo dvama” (“Only Two”), “Muhata” (“The Fly”), “Sto godini” (“100 Years”) and more of the band’s signature songs live. The atmosphere will be complemented by Tlen, the young indie post-punk formation, whose sound combines gentle vocals with sharp guitar riffs in a dark, cinematic landscape and is already gaining fans among all ages.
The iconic Nova Generatsia opens the doors to its emotional world on September 15, the first day of school, for a lesson in new wave and dark emotion on the small stage of Vidas Art Arena.
