Rotting Christ’s “Pro Xristou” is out!

The album “Pro Xristou” is dedicated to the era before Christianity. According to the band’s press, Sakis Tolis told that many churches were built on the remains of the pagan sanctuaries so that the knowledge of the ancients would be erased forever. On the Rotting Christ’s website, it is written that this album is dedicated to “…to those who resisted the coming of the Christianity, which destroyed all the values, traditions and knowledge of the ancient world”.

After a melodic intro, the first song “The Apostate” is blowing the mind with its heavy melodic riffs and epic vocals. The songs has long melodic guitar lines and choruses, typical of Rotting Christ, behind the roaring vocals of Sakis Tolis. This is the 14th album of the band and it includes gems such as “The Apostate”, “Like Father, Like Son”, “The Sixth Day”, “La Lettera Diavolo”, “Yggdrasil”. The album is one complete piece, built from a common melodies, sounds and rhythms, and it sounds like an ancient mesa. “Pro Xristou” is mixed by the sound engineer Jens Bogren. It is recorded at Deva Sound Studios in Athens, Greece (early 2023), and it was mixed and mastered at Fascination Street Studios in Orebto, Sweden.
