The famous Belgian rock and heavy metal festival Alcatraz Open Air is held annually in Kortrijk city, Belgium. The 2025 edition will take place from 7th to 10th of August. More than 60 bands confirmed their participation in the show. Here are some of the names: Machine Head, Gojira, Kreator, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Kerry King, Ministry, W.A.S.P., Michael Schenker, Obituary, Doro, Overkill, Static-X, Fu Manchu, Rotting Christ, Me And That Man, Crystal Lake, Caliban, Blaze Bayley, Thy Catafalque, Majestica, The Night Eternal, Holy Mother, Flotsam And Jetsam, Prong, Ill Nino, Hypocrisy and many more.

Alcatraz Open Air festival started in 2008 in Deinze, Belgium. Over the years on it’s stages were bands like Exodus, Primal Fear, Legion Of The Damned, Helloween, Testament, Kreator, Moonspell, Pretty Maids, Saxon, Hellstar, Iced Earth. Since 2012 the festival is held in Kortrijk, Belgium with the participation of stars such as Nightwish, Anthrax, Satan, Marilyn Manson, Twisted Sister, Sabaton, Venom Inc., Behemoth, Powerwolf, Armoured Saint, Avantasia, Soulfly Avatar, Candlemass, Korn, Status Quo and many more. In 2020 the festival wasn’t held because of COVID-19 restrictions. In the next years the number of the visitors raised double – from 13 000 up to 45 000, which makes the festival the smaller brother of the French Hellfest Open Air.
