Judas Priest’s Rob Halford refuses to retire

The vocalist of the legendary British heavy metal band Judas Priest is far away from the idea of retiring. He said this for Iowa radio station Rock 108 in an interview with Ned of the Waterloo.

“I think if your desire is still there, if your passion is still there, if you can still deliver the goods, to quote a Priest song, if you’re moving along and the machine’s not too wobbly, you can still get from A to B on one wheel, as long as it looks good and sounds good and all the other pieces are in place, why would you wanna retire?” said Rob Halford. He had a long battle with cancer. Guitarist Glenn Tipton has had Parkinson’s for 15 years, and he said in 2018 that he will continue to perform at concerts. This year the band decided which songs to not perform on stage because of Tipton’s health condition. Judas Priest’s lead guitarist, Richard Ian Faulkner, had an acute cardiac aortic dissection during the band’s performance at the Louder Than Life festival in September 2021, which operation lasted about 10 hours.

Judas Priest is on the stage for 50 years and this year released its 19th album, “Invincible Shield”. The band had a European tour. Now Judas Priest will continue with a new tour in America from September 13 to October 26 and in December in Japan.
