Emmy Award winners Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein are coming to Sofia with a specially created audio-visual show that pays tribute to the entire Stranger Things saga. On September 14, 2026, in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture, the Bulgarian audience will have the opportunity to become part of the musical world of the series, covering all five seasons – from the iconic sound of 2016 to the culmination compositions of the final season.
Dixon and Stein will present to the Bulgarian audience an immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between cinema and music. The show is not a concert in the traditional sense. For the visual concept, the duo partnered with renowned artist Marcel Weber (MFO), who creates a minimalist but impactful scenography of light and “sculpted” fog. The light acquires a physical presence – sometimes ethereal and dreamlike, sometimes harsh and ghostly – transforming the atmosphere of Stranger Things into something tangible and alive.
Critics have long ranked Dixon and Stein’s music among the most memorable contemporary soundtracks. Pitchfork describes their work as “a soundtrack that understands the difference between retro and eternity”, while Louder Than War notes that it “needs no visual context to transport you to the right psychic space”. In the history of cinema and television, there are themes that outlive the images themselves – music that becomes a symbol of an entire era. The Stranger Things soundtrack is undoubtedly one of them. Combining analog synthesizers, minimalism, and cinematic scope, Dixon and Stein create a soundscape that is inextricably linked to the fictional city of Hawkins, but also exists beyond it.
Their path to this success began far from the big stages. Back in 2009, together with Mark Donica and Adam Jones, the duo formed the group S U R V I V E – an experimental synth project known for its powerful and physically impacting live performances.
They won an Emmy Award for the main theme of the series and received numerous Grammy and ASCAP nominations. With the concert “Stranger Things – Live,” they invite the audience to experience this music in a new way – off-screen, but with all its emotional power. This is a rare opportunity to immerse ourselves in a world where sound tells stories and imagination has no limits.
