Marco Garau has announced the release date of the third act of his “Magic Opera” – “The Final Flight”. It will be out on July 24th. Be prepared for new album of magical symphonic power metal sound. The stunning artwork was created by Ivan Zanchetta (Book Covers Art) and depicts the final flight of Thyra, the mother of all white dragons, who sacrifices her life to restore peace and tranquility to the kingdom of Amtork. Magic Opera is a project created by the Derdian keyboardist Marco Garau.
The first album,”Golden Pentacle”, was released in 2021 and established the grand choir orchestral style of the Amtork Saga. It tells the story of the kingdom of Amtork, ruled by the good King Leiber, and the search of the Golden Pentacle by Lord Kama, the king’s loyal advisor and the evil mage Sir Dohron. The Golden Pentacle is a relic of immense power that grants near-invincibility to its possessor. At the end King Leiber and Lord Kama found the Golden Pentacle and the evil sorcerer Sir Dohron was kept in a dungeon.

The second album, “Battle On Ice”, released in 2023, continues the saga. The locked evil sorcerer Sir Dohron enchanted one guard of the dungeon to bring him the Cursed Crown, a mysterious five-pointed relic once belonging to Queen Adélia. He escaped with the crown and went to his kingdom. He organized his sorcerers to attack the Amtork Kingdom. Lord Kama went with his unicorn to find Sybilia, an ancient witch, who helped the Golden Pentacle to be hidden. She sent him a White Dragon—a creature that breathes not fire, but primordial ice. Lord Kama started to ride the White Dragon back to Amtork. Meanwhile, the power of Sir Dohron enlarges. Next to the Cursed Crown appeared the Book of Evil, filled with dark spells and forbidden knowledge. Most importantly, it reveals the secret of the Cursed Crown—each of its five spikes can amplify the wearer’s abilities, not only strength and magic but also cruelty and obsession. Sir Dohron decided to wear the crown and to attack Amtork Kingdom. Lord Kama returns on the back of the White Dragon and saves the kingdom.

“The Final Fight” is the epic end of the Amtork Saga. High in the mountains Thyra, the mother of all white dragons, has a vision that something ancient and evil is moving. She warns her offspring Nivor: if the world burns, they will fly. One night big shadows cross the moon. It is Cordelia, the Lady of Dark Flames, commanding fire-breathing griffins and seeking the legendary Black Gem, an artifact said to grant immortality to whoever possesses it. She went to Sir Dohron’s kingdom to offer a pact between her and him and to attack Amtork together, but Dohron refuses. He sent his messenger to King Leiber to offer an alliance to him. Leiber accepts, and together they start the attack of Cordelia and her griffons. In the battle appears white light. Thyra, the mother of all white dragons, with her offspring, makes Cordelia retreat. Before she flees, she says to Kama that Dohron is using them all just to get the Black Gem for himself. The Black Gem is a semi-conscious entity of pure magical energy that attracts those consumed by power. It can be destroyed only by the primal ice of Thyra, but the one who destroys it will disappear together with the stone. During victory celebrations, Dohron disappears in a search of the Black Gem. Dohron and Cordelia follow the call of the Black Gem in the Amtork’s land and find it pulsating with a dark energy on an altar of ancient stone. They both claim it as their own, and they start a devastating battle. Thyra comes from the kingdom Amtork to join the battle, but she sees how even Kama is obsessed with the stone. She takes a decision and freezes the stone with her primordial icy breath, shattering it to a thousand pieces with her wings. Next, she disappears in a blinding light. Dohron and Cordeila remain standing as empty shells without their souls. They paid the price for searching the stone. True and lasting peace descends upon Amtork. A monument is raised for Thyra in the heart of the kingdom, and her offspring continues protecting the realm.

Marco Garau wrote on the website the following thought:
“Unfortunately, this album will probably mark the end of the project. In an era where AI is killing human creativity and most people are happy listening to songs created by Suno, it feels completely unjustified to spend so much money and energy releasing high-quality albums that will likely remain unknown.”

Of course all the fans hope that not only the final chapter of the saga will be released but also many new albums in the future.
