Amon Amarth Releases “Upphaf”, First Their Acoustic Song Ever

For the first time in their career, Amon Amarth released an acoustic song. “Upphaf” is produced by Jacob Hansen and is available via Metal Blade Records across all digital platforms. The song’s video has been directed by Pavel Trebukhin. The song will be a part of the band’s new album.

Amon Amarth was founded in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden. Later the band started to play on many stages in the world. Their fans are from teenagers to 60-year-old people. Their positive Viking anthems and inspiring lyrics garner universal musical respect and reverence from both fans and critics. In their 30-year career, Amon Amarth never had to leave their ideas, the heavy Viking metal line, or their developing creativity. The band invented “The Row”: at the band’s concert at Bloodstock Open Air 2009, the fans sat down on the ground and, in unison, started to imitate rowing an invisible longship with imaginary oars. In 2022 Amon Amarth wrote the song „Put Your Back into the Oar” to honor the “Viking Row”. Later, “Viking Row” became a worldwide phenomenon. This tradition has spilled over into other music scenes and even at football meetings.
