Defenders Of The Faith Present A New Song “Addicted To Night”

Defenders Of The Faith is one of the side projects of Therion’s founder, composer and producer Christofer Johnsson. After the release of the first album, “Ode To The Gods”, the previous year, now he announced that there are two new songs composed and recorded from the second album. It will be a conceptual album, and the release of the songs one by one will continue for one year. The composition style will be “… from the dawn of the 1980s (where 70s hard rock had been influenced by the drive of the punk music) via the mid 80s where a more unique sound was founded – to the late 80s were the heavy classic heavy metal started to get influences from both the heavier cousin Thrash Metal on one side and happy strawberry flavoured Christmas carols on the other side (the result was often referred to as Power Metal). While the album starts and ends like that, it’s not strictly chronological in the middle, it’s not a song where the style change specifically for each year in the decade. It will simply drift free from the beginning to the end.
So this song released today represents the beginning. Influenced by MSG, UFO, Thin Lizzy and others the way they sounded around the dawn of the new decade.
“, wrote the musician. He is working simultaneously on the second Luciferian Lights Orchestra’s album.
