Shirley Manson and company take to the stage with a new album and cult hits from the 90s to today. Two weeks until the Garbage concert in Sofia.
After their memorable first visit to Bulgaria as headliners of Hills Of Rock in 2019, the legendary alternative rock band Garbage is returning to Bulgaria for a solo concert. On May 28th, Vidas Art Arena will become part of the selected venues around the world for the tour in support of their latest album “Let All That We Imagine Be The Light”, a strong, emotional and deeply personal record that marks a new creative stage in the band’s long history. In addition to the premiere of the new production, the evening will also include iconic songs from Garbage’s entire career. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Monday, December 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. on the Ticket Station network and are priced starting at 40 euros.
Garbage’s eighth studio album was born at an unexpected moment. In August 2024, the band interrupted their world tour after their unbridled frontwoman Shirley Manson was forced off stage due to complications from an old injury. After surgery and a long recovery, plans were rearranged, and this unwanted hiatus turned into a powerful creative boost that led to the creation of “Let All That We Imagine Be The Light” (2025).
While Shirley was going through physical and emotional recovery, Butch Vig, Duke Erickson and Steve Marker created new music in the studio, and the instrumentals and ideas they sent to the singer, she herself called “small sonic gifts”. Thus, from a distance and in a period of vulnerability, an album was born, saturated with themes of fragility and mortality, the power of empathy and the need for connection in today’s world.
Musically, “Let All That We Imagine Be The Light” bears the characteristic signature of Garbage – an alternative sharp sound with a cinematic atmosphere and memorable melodies. Bass lines with post-punk energy, heavy guitar riffs, dramatic arrangements and a rich sound space build a world in which each song sounds like a separate story – personal stories, social observations and universal emotions, intertwined with a sense of cohesion and faith in human relationships. This is an album about survival, about the joy of life despite everything and about the courage to move forward.
On May 28 at Vidas Art Arena, Garbage will present, in addition to their new album, iconic songs from the band’s entire career, and the audience will get a close look at one of the most beloved alternative bands of the 90s.
