
The Finnish metal diva Tarja has released a new single, “The Trace Outlives”, on May 27th, 2026. The song is from the upcoming album “Frisson Noir”, which will be out on 12th June 2026 via earMUSIC. The work will contain 10 tracks, and special guests will be Marco Hietala (ex-Nightwish), Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth), and Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). Tarja promises that “Frisson Noir” will be the heaviest album of her career. The video for the new song “The Trace Outlives” is directed by Patrick Knittler. The song features a guest appearance by Sayo Komada, a shamisen player fluent in both the Tsugaru and Nagauta styles.
Tarja Turunen, who boasts a three-and-a-half-octave vocal range, has released five rock/metal solo albums since 2007.
