The co-founder of the power metal titans Helloween and a frontman and founder of Gamma Ray, Kai Hansen, will release his solo album “Born With A Hammer” on September 18th via earMUSIC. He released the new song “Wait And See” on September 2nd. It is the third single from the upcoming album.

Kai Hansen was born in 1963, and his musical journey started in 1978 when he joined the band Gentry. Hansen established Helloween in 1983 with the guitarist Michael Weikath. After recording the first EP and three studio albums, including “Keeper of the Seven Keys” Pt. 1 and Pt. 2, he departed, founding another power metal band, Gamma Ray. Through the years he has worked with Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Angra, Unisonic, Storm Warrior, the Helloween singer Micael Kiske, and others. After a long hiatus in 2016, Kai Hansen returned to Helloween. The self-titled album “Helloween”, in which he sings alongside the two vocalists Andy Deris and Michael Kiske, was an incredible success on the massive world tour.

The debut solo album of Kai Hansen was released in 2016. “XXX – Three Decades in Metal” (2016) has featured many guest musicians such as Piet Sielck, Ralf Scheepers, Dee Snider, Steve McT, Tobias Sammet, Frank Beck, Michael Kiske, Roland Grapow, Clémentine Delauney, Marcus Bischoff, Michael Weikath, Richard Sjunnesson, Alexander Dietz, Eike Freese, Hansi Kürsch, Timi Hansen. The next album was captured from his concert at Wacken Open Air festival – “Thank You Wacken” (2017). It was followed by a collection of demo tracks – “Xtrax: The Demos” (2024).

The song “Wait and See” is bright, mixing a hard sound and a memorable melody with an electronic sound and a hard dance beat.
