Septicflesh Announce Special Guest Musicians For Their Concert “Ancient Whispers” In Plovdiv

On Saturday, September 19th, 2026, the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv will be the stage for Septicflesh’s only concert with an orchestra and choir for 2026 and the band’s last European performance of the year. For the exclusive performance “Ancient Whispers”, Septicflesh will be in its full lineup, which also includes the original member since its creation in 1990 (along with brothers Spiros and Christos Antoniou) Sotiris Vayenas “Sotiris Anunnaki V.”
For the show, the band is joined by guest musicians Fany Melfi, Aphrodite Patoulidou and Vahan Galstyan, and the internationally renowned Dutch conductor Koen Schoots will be behind the conductor’s podium.

Maestro Koen Schoots will conduct the extensive musical program of “Ancient Whispers.” He has worked with Septicflesh on their three full-scale orchestral shows in Europe to date – the band’s sold-out concerts at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus under the Acropolis in Athens – one in 2024 and two in 2025.

Of particular importance and a pleasant surprise for fans will be the appearance of Sotiris Vayenas, as he is one of the key figures in the history and work of Septicflesh. Due to his professional commitments outside of music, he usually does not participate in tours, and his concert appearances with Septicflesh at all are extremely rare and reserved for special events.
Sotiris is the author of Septicflesh’s lyrics, performs clean vocals, plays keyboards and guitar on studio recordings and is among the band’s composers. On September 19th, he will be on the stage of the Ancient Theater for “Ancient Whispers”.

Vahan Galstyan is among the established duduk performers. He worked with Vangelis on the music related to “Alexander” and has participated in numerous international productions and concerts. The characteristic sound of the ancient Armenian instrument will be another specific musical layer in the orchestral concept of “Ancient Whispers”.
In Plovdiv, Septicflesh will take the stage together with the orchestra and choir of the Plovdiv Opera, and the ancient stage will become a natural decor for the symphonic world of the group.
Interest in the concert already goes far beyond the borders of Bulgaria. Tickets for “Ancient Whispers” have been purchased by fans from 46 countries, and the number of represented countries continues to grow. The audience in Plovdiv will gather Septicflesh fans from Europe and from different parts of the world for a concert that will not be repeated elsewhere in 2026.
After Septicflesh’s triumph at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, it is the turn of another ancient stage. On Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv, the group will present “Ancient Whispers”, their only concert with an orchestra and choir for the year and their last concert in Europe in 2026.
